Membership in the Horace Mann League
Membership in the Horace Mann League is by invitation only. "Any person shall be eligible to membership in this League who is twenty-one (21) years of age, of good moral character and a citizen of the United States, and who shall give satisfactory evidence of loyalty to the purposes and principles of this league."
Large numbers have never been sought; rather, the organization has been made up of a select group of professional educators and citizens who are dedicated, whole-heartedly and unreservedly, to public education. The roster of members has included most of the leaders in public education for the past 85 years.
An annual meeting is held, usually during the annual convention of the American Association of School Administrators. A number of great advances in public education have emanated from these sessions.
Always, the members have gone forth resolved to stand in their positions of service and in their circle of influence for the preservation and enhancement of public education.
