Welcome to the Wilderness Centre!
At the Wilderness Centre we offer a range of residential and day courses in Environmental Education, Outdoor Education and Personal and Social Development. Our aim is to meet the needs of all age groups in Gloucestershire and further afield.
- Outdoor Education
- The Outdoor Education Team provides team development, leadership and residential programmes with a variety of aims, based at our own centres or further a field.
- Environmental Education
- The Environmental Education Team offers a range of programmes to cater for pre-school, schools, INSET training and Youthwork. For example, pond dipping at Plump Hill Centre.
- Gloucestershire Youth Service Outdoor Centres
- The Gloucestershire Youth Service provides four facilities for the benefit of youth groups, schools and other organisations visiting the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons National Park.
- Entry to Employment
- The Wilderness Work Experience and Training Programme is aimed at equipping young people with the confidence, self-esteem, and learning opportunities to enable them to be better placed to compete in the market.
- Environmental Education
- 'A Closer Look'. Environmental programmes link the natural environment to the National Curriculum at our centres or at your own location.
- Outdoor Education
- Outdoor adventure activities are designed to develop the personal and social awareness of young people while providing the satisfaction in facing and overcoming a challenge.
- Environmental Education
- Live for a day as an Anglo Saxon in our Anglo Saxon hall. National curriculum links to QCA requirements.
