AFG Alkali Flats Gazette is an annual newsletter published in December. The newsletter focuses on two families, each with it's own edition. The Smith edition covers Adam Smith Sr. family line who originally settled in Shenandoah, Virginia in the 1770s and spread across Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Wyoming and eventually to 21 of the 50 states by the end of the 20th century.
The author of "I don't know you from Adam" ( 2 volume set on the history of the Smith family by A.D. Smith) has also written the newsletter.
Owen Family Edition
Circulation: 65+
The Owen edition covers the Edward Owen/ Owins (1775 est. - 1833) family in Person county, North Carolina. The current Owen family research is published in "The Owen Family" (a book written by A.D. Smith) which covers this family as the Owen's travel by wagon train through the Cumberland gap to Kentucky and eventually spread to Oklahoma, Illinois and on to the west coast by the end of the 20th century.

PSN Positive Spin newsletter is an annually published in December. It covers PGE which is a freelance writing & PR firm. It also reports on the writing projects and new book releases by the Science Fiction author, A.D. Smith.
Subscriptions & Archive copies
All newsletter issues are $1 each, which includes any back issue. Back issues can also be seen at the Allen Co. Public Library of Indiana and can be requested from PGE at the address below.
The newsletter is commonly 4 to 6 pages of 8.5 X 11 inch paper with graphics and photos. E-mail editions are sent for free without any graphics.

We accept any submission of articles, family trees, photos or data pertaining to the Smith or Owen families. Information and articles can be sent to the mailing address below or it can be sent by e-mail to eightsidedhouse@yahoo.com. At this time we can only offer mailing and copy cost reimbursement for submissions.
Advertising Rates & Donations
We accept donations for the Family archive project and all funds from advertising revenues go to publishing of the newsletter and the maintenance of the archives. Advertising rates:
