In the 1770's Adam Smith Sr. and a few of his first born with his wife Hannah began a plantation near the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.
Thus was the beginning of the Smith family which would spread out into central Ohio in the early 1800's and in ten generations, would live in twenty one of the fifty states, fight in almost every American conflict and accumulated over 4,000 family members.
The Smith family history is featured in a two volume book set of 600 pages. The two volumes cover 223 years of family history with hundreds of contributing surnames, photos and over 4,000 individual profiles.
The first Volume covers the first five generations from 1775 to the late 1800's. The second volume covers the remaining five generations from the late 1800's to the present.
